Btw ccp if you think not having a use for the current dd effects is a waste, the deadth of a titan and supercap could start an original doomsday. -

Seems theres a focus on slave sets on titan balancing only here, where using only pdus in the lows is the norm even if somewhat pigeonholing and your setups also take all medslots used for tank into account as well. On motherships or carriers medslots and on phoenixes lows, other mods are reasonable to be fitted as well, like tackle and sensor booster on carriers/moms and bcus on dreads.
Shield tanking caps have a hp disadvantage simply because Fitting slots >> Implant slots - its the same reason why you see slave sets used in pvp but not power diagnostics on shield[buffer]tanks.
There are several easy fixes, one would be changing crystals to boost shield hp while decreasing shield recharge to avoid overpowered drakes (ohnoes). Or leave crystals like they are and have them effect capital shield booster. -

Distinction is great as long as one side doesnt get worse off then the other. Im sure ccp can come up with better ideas then the two i presented there just dont tell me that filling up all your lows with pdus and meds with tank leaving no room for anyhting else equals an implant set. -

AFAIK a tackled titan in syndicate today caused a massive capfight with 200 caplosses combined. I had hoped that titan would become worthwhile to have on the battlefield, a great threat but a great target alike for fleets - abarthurs changes wouldve made this happen. -

Awesome trailer for everyone who havent seen it, just ironic that everyone seeing that video thinking awesome i want that ship doesnt realize hes gonna fly a ship designed to be a taxi. -

Incentive, not limitation, is the proper way to get someone to do something. Making them WORTH taking on the field is the way to get them to put sh*t on the line.
I believe titan pilots want to have a reason to take their ships into a fight much more than they want to sit in a pos and jump bridge/give gang bonuses.
But thats the whole problem, isnt it. Two months ago a dev says they want to see titans staying on the battlefield. Now we read a devblog that says Originally by: DevBlog The Titans primary value should be as a fleet's logistical backbone
Link You dont do logistics on a battlefield, its done at poses ninjad in quiet times / safe ways - ie titans are not supposed to be on the field now.
Thats a real loss for eve imo, having a friendly or hostile titan under fire puts the stakes very high, which is what this game is about, many of the greatest battles in eve have been around titans.
Even the trailer suggests that titans are the "endgame", id love to see the look of the video makers face when theyre asked to produce an "That`s Awesome" effect with titans doing logistics. Surely theres a way to balance titans in a way to give enough incentive for their pilots to warp into hostiles caps but at the same time to avoid overpowering them, or forcing alliances to have 50. -

Quote: I also laugh at ppl who actually wanted to get crystals inline with slaveset so they can use it on their ragnaroks and leviathans haha
That was when the DD had a 5 minute cycle and they all had a 200% damage bonus :/ -

Unfortunately it is, yes. The best way i see to change this would be to disable warp after dding for 5 mins while giving proper firepower to actually not wanting to leave. I still think one entity having 20+ titans is the only overpowered thing about this, on the other hand if the other side loses 40 dreads killing one of the titans it would be worth it losing them. -

Not quite, i own a supercarrier and will hop it into a fight whenever i get the chance, once theyre properly balanced - and would do the same with a titan.
After playing this game for some time theres only so many things that keep you interested, shooting a hostile supercap or saving a friendly one is very high up there as those fights get your blood flowing - even more so if you sit in one.
A titan doing drivebyes on the other hand is just frustrating. Its absurd to watch the most expensive and most difficult to build ship having todo hit and runs and being fit for that. I also see little sence in ccp encouraging exactly that.. -
